This is a roleplay journal for use at fandom_tropolis and its related game communities. I do not own this character or the wonderful Amber Benson, whose image is used in the icons. Speaking of icons - the incomparable remember_nomore is the creator of my mood set, and many of the icons I use. She is the visual goddess of all things Tara, and I worship her. cala_jane made my beautiful colourbar. No copyright infringement is intended to any of these wonderful people.

Character Name: Tara McCutcheon, nee Maclay. (Tara has recently changed her birth name to adopt her wife's surname.)

Character Residence/Roommates and approximate location: 37C Jaffe Street, Babylon. Lives with wife, Shane McCutcheon, and girlfriend, Kate Lockley, in a beautiful apartment they pay no rent on, courtesy of the Powers That Be. Who did something right, for once.
Character Work Schedule/Information: Teaching three classes - Good & Evil (teamtaught with Lee Danvers), Myth and Magic (teamtaught with Anita Blake) and Foundations of Magic. Schedule to be announced shortly.

Brief Character Description: Tara is 5'5", with dark blonde hair and a lopsided smile. She has a tendency to be shy and hesitent, particularly with men, but is compassionate, warm hearted, and for the most part assumes the best about everyone she meets. She will walk away from danger to protect herself, but she won't ever give up on the person doing the threatening. Fandom!Tara has managed to acquire a rather interesting 'family of choice', linked by their need to love and be loved, not unlike the familial relationship she developed with Dawn in canon.

Special Character Powers/Abilities: Tara is a skilled witch, and has been trained since the age of six by her mother. She is not particularly powerful, but she knows a lot of theory. In particular, she's very good with auras - including meditation, and the opening and linking of chakras with consent and involvement from the other person. She can see anything seriously wrong in someone's aura - if you have cancer, she'll see it. If you've possessed someone else's body? She'll see it. The better she knows a person the more effectively she can translate what she sees, including telling if someone is lying, but she cannot do this with complete strangers.
Brief Character History:
I guess the story starts when it ends. I mean, there's stuff before that - family, and escape, and freedom, and love, and belonging, and betrayal - but the reason I'm here is because of a bullet that nearly destroyed the world.

I died. I mean, I'm dead. I was shot.

Which kinda prompted my old girlfriend to go on a murderous rampage and nearly destroy the world. Not that she's evil - she's not, she and her friends have saved the world *so* many times. It's just that sometimes it's hard to tell what's right and wrong.

Which brings me back to why I'm here. The Powers That Be have sent me here, to fandom_tropolis, to gather information on the nature of evil - what is it, what causes it, and how can it be fought? Goodness knows it's a lot more complicated than the Powers have ever been willing to accept. I was lucky this time - my wife, Shane McCutcheon, was allowed to come with me, from fandomhigh. I don't know what I'd do without her, and Katie. With their support, I can do this.
